Default 650 hp 350z turbo kit

The kit for $4500? Tell me this would be the biggest bang for your buck around. I sure do hope this is true. Anybody have any details or think that this is even possible?

If this is 650 at the crank it must put down arond 530 at the wheels. That would have to relate to low 11's and maybe even high 10's.

Got this off 300zxforum.com

Prices are probably a bit low for a twin turbo setup. Also you're forgetting the other costs associated with a turbo system, like intercooler install, fuel pump, oil pump, etc., not to mention the fact you would need at minimum a new differential and clutch.

Now is it possible? We'll see... I wouldn't deem anything to be impossible.

I thought I already replied to this question...oh wait, flyz33 posted the same thing in the General forum.

As I said there,

The important thing to notice is it says capable. That means that the turbos can flow enough to provide that amount of power assuming you make the other necessary upgrades. This does not mean, if you buy this kit and bolt it on you, then you will have 650+ hp.

That said, this turbo kit is one that the community is watching to see what kind of performance it can provide. PE has a pretty good rep with their kits, IIRC.

Assuming those are crank hp #'s it's possible. There are turbocharged 4th gen maximas (1995-1999) running 11 psi on stock internals making 372 hp and 369 ft. lbs of torque at the wheel. 11 psi is believed to be the highest boost a Maxima can run without destroying itself. Maxima's run a 10 to 1 CR which is slighty lower to a 350Z's 10.3 to 1 CR. Now add 0.5 liter displacement and CVTCS of the 350Z and the #'s Godspeed are quoting seem about right.

FWIW a intercooled single turbo kit for a Maxima runs around $4300.

You 3.5L Maxima studs run a 10.3 to 1 CR, but us lowly 3.0L Maximas run a 10 to 1 CR.

Damn i can't wait for this to come out. This is one thing the 350z lacks...POWER! so I'm definately down for slapping a turbo on this and seeing what kind of power we can make.

I'd like to see what numbers they get on a completely stock 350Z... some valid numbers and reliability data. =) Also, it would be good for us Cali folk to find a company that will have it smog certified. GReddy is one of the only companies that go out of their way to do so.

The factory cats will remain in place so smog should not be an issue. The PE kits are also ball bearing which means faster spool up and greater reliability. We have used many of their turbo kits on everything from Syvias to 300Z TT's to WRX's and they have never failed to dissapoint with not only incredible quality and power output but more importantly, perfect fit and perfect reliability. Pricing is subject to change actually but should be under $5000 for a beautiful kit which will completely transform this car. I will be testing kits on the G35 coupe as well so I will post results as soon as they are available. I will be taking preorders after the 1st of the year.

Wow, their kits sound very promising. I'm definately going to turbo my 350z its just a matter of which kit I go with. I'd like to be one of the first guys in the US to turbo their 350z so as soon as these kits are available for order I'm going to order it. I'd definately have to go with the 600+ hp kit. Although I'm sure it will be a lot more than 4500$. Usually a FMIC and a fuel system cost that much. Let alone the turbo kit, electronics, clutch, exhaust, etc, etc. So I'm curious what is all included for 4500$ and what else they say is needed.

I'm really wanting to push this motor and see what it can handle. So, hopefully these companies start getting the turbo kits out on the market so I can really push this motor to its limits.

Default Nismo??

I am waiting to see what Nismo may have in store for the Z. If they come out with a turbo... will it still be covered under warrantee?? Will it be offered with a future model/package with the Z?

In Cali, unless you know someone who will do the smog for you without being strict, then you'll have to have it smog certified. That's why headers, and intake have to be smog certified. I know that not ALL smog people are that strict, but I can tell you there are plenty that are awful. =(

Does the 350Z have pre-cats?

Pricing is estimated. It may be higher and yes to get 650 HP you will need more modifications. Street kit will probably be around 400 HP but very reliable and plug and play. Stay tuned. More info as it comes in.

Default will it pass smog?

Dan:

I am affraid to ask but....the big items for me are product warranty, factory warranty (will it void the motor after install?), and will it pass smog? Are the answers no, no, and no again?

I gaurantee my work in terms of install and the product themselves I have NEVER had a problem with in over a year that I've been a Power Enterprise dealer. Now in terms of the car itself, that you're on your own since yes, if you raise the boost you're going to blow the car up, that is something I can not control but as long as you follow my advice and monitor the engine with a proper EGT and boost gauges, you should have no problem. I'l be testing it on a local car as soon as I can. I'll need to find a 350Z in Detroit to test it on since I think my brother changed his mind and is probably buying an EVO instead.

Guru, do you know when they will be releasing their turbo kits? What will be included in the turbo kit? Just the turbo, manifolds and all the lines and such?

For there 650hp kit, what else is going to be needed? Fuel system, front mount, electronics, etc?

I'm really wanting to turbo my car and as soon as I can order the stuff I am going to. I definately plan on going all out and seeing what this motor can do, otherwise its time for a rb26
