Do you run the AMO AMSOIL as shown in the link below correct?

AMO AMSOIL 10W-40

I think I'm about to order some of this.

its labeled "economy" grade. not too many gas stations have it. i dont think its a good idea for the z. you can foul your plugs and clog your injectors. it'll cost you more $$$ in the long run.

amsoil is actually good for the life of the engine. with amsoil you should never need to change the oil again, just the filter. there have been numerous tests showing that even after thousands of miles the oil is still in great condition. not that im recommending you to never change your oil, but amsoil is the $hit

I've been running Amsoil in my vehicles for quite a few years. Great stuff. My G35 coupe has 17K miles and does not burn a drop. I run 5W30 in the summer and 0W30 in the cold months.

They do have power steering oil coolers you know.

I know what you mean. Headlight fluid is one of them.

Mobil 1 5W-30 is not any thinner than any other 5W-30 oil, that is once the oil heats up. All synthetic oils start out thin to reduce wear and tear on the motor. And when you are going from standard oil to synthetic it is a good idea to run a blend for one oil change. The reason for this is to help the gaskets expand to stop any leaks that may occur with the use of a full synthetic (synthetic oil is famous for causing engine leaks). At least this is what I learned in training when I was managing a VIOC center. That job sucked BTW!

I think I'll be switching from Mobile1 to Amsoil. From all the reviews here it seems that it's the "Zaino" of engine oils.. It also seems as though Amsoil is a different blend than Mobile1, so when I switch would it be wise to flush the motor with engine flush??

Am I the only one on here running Amsoil 0w30?

I love that oil. It really holds up well and keeps the engine performing like it should. An oil analysis a while back confirmed this as well.

I use it in my G coupe in the winter months and in the summer as well if I happen to have it in my garage. If not, then I use the Amsoil 5W30 for summer months. The 0W30 is excellent stuff, with a superb molecular structure for proper lube.

blackstones laboratories are great for oil analysis. i've been sending them samples with every oil change. its nice to know whats going on inside your engine without having to dump a ton of $$$ into it.
