Default Best NA Sound/Grind friendly Clutch+Flywheel

I just blew my clutch out and am looking for a new clutch and flywheel combo.
I want something with significant performance gains minimal gring under 2500 RPM. Can you guys please make a suggestion.

Also the dealer will hook up a great install price as long as they are "matching" and not "in pieces." Can someone please explain how a combo would NOT BE matching?

Also is $550.00 a good price for dealer install?

If sound is a concern, stick to OE as far as flywheel goes. Even mildly lighter flywheels chatter noticeably at idle as well as up to 2500rpm.

From what I've been reading, I think the JWT Flywheel + Clutch combo would fit your search criteria. Although the Flywheel does have some slight chatter at lower rpms, it's not that bad. Then again, this is very subjective so I'd suggest asking a local member if you can listen to theirs.

Jason from Performance Nissan posted a bunch of videos on another 350Z oriented message board of his car with the Tilton setup on the street and the drag strip. It didn't sound bad at all to me and the way the car revs is simply amazing.

Very true ..but after the JWT, I have to push in the clutch to be able to hear myself order a combo at the drive-thru.

I had the JWT fly/clutch installed yesterday. Honestly I don't know what you guys are talking about with this chatter. Mine sounds identical to stock. The clutch pedal engagement is closer to the floor and is a little stiffer, but other than that I can't hear any difference. RPM's do come up slightly faster. Maybe the sound from my plenum is drowning it out.

The JUN flywheel is also very quite with the oem clutch. With the stock clutch it sounds just a hair louder than stock.

I thought the same thing too when I first had the JWT flywheel installed. Give the flywheel a few days and you will start to notice the chatter.

Sentry stated that if you bump the idle it will get rid of that unwanted noise.

Geez my JWT flywheel is very quiet. Almost no chatter whatsoever and I have had it for a bit now. It is a great mod IMO. Almost wish it had a little more chatter

How'd you burn out your clutch Tom????

Are you sure the installation and adjustment is good?

I have the JWT combo as well, and like most other people the noise is minimal and the exhaust (even when I had the stock exhaust) makes more noise and makes the flywheel chatter unoticeable.

Also, if you haven't done already, I would suggest to bump your idle a bit, that might help you a little. My "noise" was the same before and after the idle bump.

I think by "matching" they mean if you buy a flywheel and clutch from different brands, then they might have to adjust something to make it work properly. $550 is kind of a mid-high price for a flywheel and clutch installation. I'm sure you can find a better price than that.

+1 on everything. I had mine for about 4 months now, and I rarely ever hear anything.

yeah my clutch pedal engagement is very low now and very short with the JWT.

Also, I paid $290 to get it all installed with a short throw shifter.

I noticed this as well....clutch engagement is very low. My tech adjusted it a little so it is more off the floor. I had the idle bumped to 875 already for some JWT cams.....maybe that is why its not as loud.

I will drive the car for the first time with the JWT and I will let you guys no.
I was very suprised at how quickly my stocker went from bad to worse. After 4 days of driving on the slipping clutch it blew out all together.

My car is completely immobile and I had to have it towed to a performance shop.
Install is $350.00 and I think thats fair.

Doesn't sound like you gusy felt much of a performance gain
I would think that a 14lb. flywheel would change the revvs more than just mildly.

I have it on but Im afraid to get on it right now. Im thinking there has to be some sort of "break in" period. When I revv a lil in neutral I can tell the RPMS decelerate quicker for sure.
