Clutch Sticking???
Anyone with an '05 (or earlier) Z ever experience an occassional problem with the clutch sticking after it's been depressed??
Sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, it sticks just for a couple of seconds....seems odd.
Is this something the dealer should look at??
Thanks!

Clutch Sticking
I have an 05 performance with the same problem. Seems the problem comes up when I try a quick launch off the line. Sticks down for about 5 seconds after and burns the Sh** outta my clutch. What's going on?

I have an 04 and it has done this a few times. A few weeks ago on another long road trip I caught the gas pedal sticking some as well. Scary thought. My clutch is about fried anyway...but when it won't come back up I stomp on it hard and it releases...buens like h*ll though!

I had this happen once last month. I took off from a u-turn and when I shifted to second it just stuck to the floor. Needless to say I let off the throttle real quick. When I stopped I could smell the clutch smoking. Oh well, just another sign I need a new clutch...

I had the same problem, and in my case the problem was that the clutch line got over heated and the result was like when the brake oil boils and the brakes won’t work. Same principle. I fix it with this:

But I guess you could use Motul and maybe it could work.
Since I installed the line, no more of that…

Do you need to bleed clutch oil, like it is for brake?
Thanks,

Exact same problem here also. Shifted from 1st to 2nd, clutch pedal stuck in 2nd. Burnt the hell outta the clutch. I'm thinking about getting those stainless/kevlar lines. What kind of clutch fluid are all of you using? Is it Motul?

I have been having the same problem to. I only have about 7K miles on my 05. I do drive the car hard but not to the point were the clutch should already be worn out.

I started a thread on g35driver because of the same issue on my 2005 G35 sedan 6MT. I have never been on a track, and no abuse of the drivetrain has occured. The clutch should be in good shape. I've been driving stick for 15 years and know what I am doing.
But this happened for the first time at about 10K miles... and a few times since. It is always from a dead stop, and what I would call a "somewhat" aggressive launch... the clutch pedal does NOT return all the way from being depressed - it stays there for a moment, then returns to it's normal position. The bad part, is that it is not fully "clamping" the clutch in the process, so the clutch is getting burned/glazed as it slips. You can smell it. Plus, the vehicle is not accelerating like you would expect it to.
I consider this not only a pain in the ***, but a safety issue as well. What if I'm trying to cross an intersection, or pull out onto a street with traffic, and the clutch doesn't grab like I expect it to?

I think this might have happened to me today for the first time
Turning right from a dead stop; I had it rev'd up to 2.5-3k and when i rolled out of the clutch it didn't come with my foot ><
First time it's ever happened. But my car is an '06 with 1,220 miles on it
Hope it doesn't happen again...

nissan should of put a clutch that holds better than what they did. im talking to my dealer about my problem tomorrow and either tell them to fix it or they can have it back and see what they say. i would like it fixed before i make my first payment.
