Basicly... the NISMO S1 is packaged with the Valve Springs / Shims already...

With the JWT you have to purchase them seperately...

you can do the math on the pricing...
But dont confuse the Nismo Spec 1 or Spec 2 japanese cams which Richie is talking about which are different to the JWT and Nismo USA cams.

Yeah... as what Murray said... I was talking about JDM Nismo Spec 1 cams... I am sure you can get that from many places online, but you will need to order valve springs separately (not provided as a package)... and the lead time for the cams is normally from 1 to 3 months as suggested on Nismo website.

cheers,

richie

Cams will come after that. Which ones are gonna be the most aggressive, but still great for a daily driver. I don't want lopey cams with no power below 4000 RPM's that can't idle below 1k rpms. I like JWT and Nismo, in general... is there a difference between the regular nismo cams for $1200, and the S1 nismo cams with springs and retainers for $1800 or are those the same actual cams? Are they gonna provide more modded peak HP than the JWT cams?

Thx in advance for the input/advice.
Would love to hear from a reputable tuner shop or 2 as well
I agree with on the fact that cams will be a great addition to wake up the engine. I tend to go by what I see as far as whats good. And by what I see I mean dyno results. As far as it goes, the JWT cams and the Nismo cams are close to equal. The JWT cams are a little less expensive, you won't need the retainers and springs if you intend to use the car in the already usable rev range. However if you do buy them, you'll be able to rev to 7500 with no issues... above 7500 the rod bolts start to stretch. So basically, its about the same, save a few bucks and go for the JWT set in my opinion.

Also, since you plan on going All-motor and doing the exhaust. I'd recommend headers and cat replacement pipes, as well as a Y pipe. I'd also recommend our angled intake spacer for the car, it's a great bang for the buck mod. An intake wouldn't be a bad idea either.

With an ECU reflash from us here at Altered you wouldn't need to buy an S-AFC, however, i would suggest you reflash the ECU ... buy the above mods, then have it custom dyno tuned again.

With some stuff like I outlined, you'd see some very nice power gains, as well as a very good sound from the car. With the proper suspension and brakes, you'd have a bad *** street/weekend track car.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
