track times on a stock z
I considered myself a pretty competent driver & ran a 14.3 first time out.
Got it down to a very consistent 14.1 after a few runs.
Best thing to keep in mind: Be ready for the damn light & don't gas it too much or you'll light 'em up & get a horrible 60' time.

First run EVER 2.16 60ft, 13.80 @ 100.8, then went 13.77 @ 101.4 (2.05 60ft), and followed with a 13.86 @ 100. Those where my only three runs stock, at a so-so track

Track elevation, temperature, humidity, and track condition can influence your time and trap speed greatly. First time I went to the track I ran 13.88@103.9, with a 2.4 60ft
320ft, ~40 degrees
320ft, ~40 degrees

Just get out there, be safe, and have fun. I’ve seen too many new racers approach their first day at the track like it was some sort of defining moment in their life. If you work too hard to reach some pie-in-the-sky number, the fun factor goes out the door. Please keep in mind that no one cares about your ET. Just you.
