Close Loop - Open Loop ?
I know the basics of it. In mode x the car reads the A/F and constantly adjusts fuel for as close to stoic (spelling?) combustions as it can. (14.7)
Under some condition(s) it switches to the other mode, and because it doesn't have wide bands... uses the internal static map.
In mode y the stock ECU dives the A/F to 9-11 @ 5k+ RPM. (I don't know exactly what it is... but it is rich!)
On to the questions.
A) Is it open that it takes feedback and strives for 14.7?
B) What conditions set it to the other?
C) How can I force it into the other? (Greddy E-Manage Ultimate)
D) When would I want to force it into the other?
E) Anything else?

Check out www.URDUSA.com for an excellent review of ECU operating modes, i.e. open loop, closed loop, fuel cut..The article is named U-TUNE.
