Ok so my front bumper, hood and fenders could use repainting so here's my question. I really want cams but the car's appearance is killing me with all the white spec (black shows EVERYTHING!!!). I was debating doing the Vertex body kit or the cams. Then i thought i could spend a few hundred repainting without the kit for now and do the cams. Any opinions or what I should do first? Thanks!
why the tomei and not the nismo S1's? Could always wait for crawford
sounds like you really want to do the body kit first
cams are nice, but you don't get to enjoy them 100% of the time you drive your car like you will with a body kit

Maybe the $1000-$1300 labor bill for a cam install will help you decide.
If it was me, I would do the body kit. As you are unlikely to gain more than 15-20whp by swapping cams.

Are you planning on going FI later? If so, I'd just wait on the cams so you can do it all at the same time. This will save you money on labor since they'll be working on your engine anyway. Also...by that time, they probably will come out with cams that are better spec'd for FI. So with that said...I also say go for the bodykit if you had to choose between these two. BTW...nice choice in bodykits. I'm running the full Vertex kit now

Hmm... just save for FI
If not, I'd say get the kit repainted. Speaking of which, at my college parking lot there are 8 Z's that all park together in the back (we're like a cult)...this one dude has a nice kit but DAMN it needs a paint job, there are spider cracks all over and the paint is so dull... He has a pretty kit though, i wish i could lend the guy money or something lol.

You just can't beat the sound, response and general kickassness of having an NA Z. With that said I still wouldn't endorse getting cams. If you are going to do cams you should knock out all your basic bolt ons first and get a nice ECU to tune it all smoothly. Spend a few bucks and buy a japanese magazine called Option. I believe you can find them on eBay or other retailers that carry hard to find japanese goodies. You will find so many awesome kits and stuff to put on your car... the japanese are obsessed with the z33.
