Question ECU 6MT vs 5AT

I want to pick up a spare ecu so that Technosquare can duplicate my ecu onto it and use the spare for the reflash.

I have an oppertunity to pickup a 6MT ecu at a good price. Does it matter that my car is a 5AT given that the program on it will be copied over from my 5AT ecu?

I tried a 6mt ecu in my 5at and it significally altered the tranny shifts. 1st to second would hold under wot and shift real hard, even making the tires chirp, but 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th would slip. Manual mode acted strang as well. TS would need to add the program that controls the transmission compter to that ecu to work properly. You can run the 6mt ecu while getting your stock ecu reflashed as long as it is normal driving without any hard acceleration! There is some control of the tranny through the ecu. Maybe TS can alter the shifts slightly.

I would not recomend it, simply because they are mapped and programmed differently. I don't know if it would be easy for TS to re-do the programming or not, but I would recomend staying with the same year and trans type at the very least...
