WTF I thought is was a bearing!
Well I got a call from the transmission shop today with the bad news. The owner said my main gear shaft and input bearing is messed up. Also my 2nd gear synchro is about to blow. He states this synchro looks as if it has 90,000 miles on it and I only have 11,000. He called nissan and they sold him the updated transmission rebuild kit (supposidly for the 05 and up trannys). The total cost to me is 3771.33 dollars. Aint that some sh*t. What the h*ll am I going to do. Is there an alterative? Helllllpppppp.

I took it to the track and had alot of wheel hop on several of the runs. It started to get alittle harder to get into second gear. After a day or two second gear started to rattle rattle a little more and the "clutch chatter" got louder.
The reason I haven't purchased a new tranny is that nissan stated that all the trannys for the Z will eventually have this problem unless you purchase the new bearings and rebuild kit. I don't know if this is true. A new tranny from nissan is 3200 dollars.

Why did you bring it to a transmission shop?
With 11,000 miles you still have 49000 Miles of factory warranty on your trans!!!
A BRAND NEW tranny latest revision will cost you $2126.15 MSRP!!!! Our discounted price would be $1622.22 plus shipping which will be like $120 for a complete new trans!

only thing is you will need to supply the Greddy Waste Gate Gaskets and pay the extra labor for removing the waste gates for the install...

The nissan dealerships here in central texas don't have a mod freindly attitude as you do. They told me the same thing NO WARRANTY with the twin turbos and upgraded clutch/flywheel. Thanks, but it is a overpriced done deal. I went ahead and had the tranny rebuilt with the 2005 parts. If I ever have this problem again Peformance Nissan is who I will call. ThanKs

As long as your car is as good as you want it to be!
Next time, remember that you can bring your car to any NISSAN dealer... Im sure there are alot of them in Texas even if you have to drive a couple hundred miles...
