does anyone know how good the LSD from KAAZ is? It is one of the cheapest LSDs for the Z, but I dont know anything about the quality of it. Does anyone have it?

I had the KAAZ and it was a good diff....it was just loud. Very similar to the Nismo or Cusco....any clutch type differential.

Please note that there is a difference between something being "cheap" and something being low priced.

its a great LSD....very similar to NISMO in every facet. Not nearly as quiet as the Cusco RS nor the ATS though...both of which are moderately more expensive

The Kazz is definately the way to go, its more agressive than the Nismo and does make some noise but the lock up is so good it feels like traction control, its very hard to loose traction. Another nice thing with Kazz is that they can build it to your specifications. I have a 1.5way with a 80% lock up in my racecar and it has been 100% reliable. The standard Kazz application for the 350Z is a 2.0way, unless you are planning on a high HP, forced induction car, I would go with 1.5way.

hence why I go with Cusco as the LSD of choice 1/5 or 2 way (user selectable), 60,80, or 100% lockup (rearrange the disks), and since it is a sprung hub design, much smoother engagement and much quieter than the Kaaz/Nismo/Cusco MZ series.

At the end of the day though, all of them are excellent choices and only differ based on some minor things

On the Kazz you can rearrange the disk as well to change the lockup. The only thing you cant do is change it from 1.5-2 without sending it back to Kazz. But for a race application I dont feel comfortable with a diff that allows you to change the lockup type without tearing it down, for reliability the simpler it is the more reliable.

I agree, the major brands are all very good quality. I would recommend Kazz though because they have good customer service (tell Ray I sent you) and they support racers like myself.

I'd disagree, as many professional teams use the identical Cusco RS diff, most notably Signal and their drift cars....but to each his own It's not the type of thing that can fall out adjustment, as it is simply an internal cam. Either way you go, you cant go wrong...just get the one that best suits your needs and budget, and whatever you do, don't get the Quaife (awesome diffs, but not the right choice for this application)

Default Cusco Kit

When you buy the cusco lsd, does it come with everything you would need to put it on a base 2006 z?

the only LSD that comes with everything is the NISMO. It is similar to the Cusco, and the Kaaz, with the main difference being the Cusco has a sprung hub design, making it much quieter, and much smoother engagement vs the solid hub Kaaz and NISMO units

Does Quaife require additional parts for a open diff Z?

Z1: can you provide the list of OEM components that one would need to get for '06 base model to use Cusco RS? What is the best place to get the OEM components? Would the Nismo cooling diff cover work with the base model aslo?
