Default Darton Sleeves

I was wondering what you guys thought about would it be cheaper, to have my motor sleeved and do the assembling myself or just buy an engine from SGP?

I would like to get 650rwhp on 94 pump gas and 800rwhp on race gas. Fully built motor of course. Im going to go with the greddy TT kit, my tuner also said he can have the 18g modified to 20g.

Sleeve it for sure. Honestly, the block should be sent to Darton for sleeving, as they guarantee them not to leak. Regardless of which shop does the engine build, the sleeves should only be installed by Darton. We sell them on the website here: http://www.forgedinternals.com/store...cat=264&page=1

Thanks for the info Sharif, I was planing on having them install the sleeves. But i was wondering if it would be cheaper, in the long run for me to do the rest of the build myself or just but a long block from sgp.

Exclamation Installation Costs

Brandon's right on the nose with his price!! Here's an email response I received from John Catapang with Darton about their MID sleeves.

Hello Gene,

The max bore size of our kit is 100mm. The kit comes semi-finished for stock bore size and can be bore to 100mm once installed. A good machine shop can install the kit. We supply the block specs for what the block needs to be machined in order to fit the sleeves. As for leakage there is no way for us to guarantee that because we are not doing the work. If we install the kit the sleeves will have a lifetime guarantee and the labor will be covered for 1 yr. The kit is $1050.00 and installation is an additional $1000.00 plus shipping and handling. Turn around is roughly 7-10 working days. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanx,

John

If your looking for a great shop check out this shop, http://www.westonmachine.com/ - Charlie Weston is the owner, and they're the shop of choice for many Pro teams. The work that they didn't on my block was just awesome and they are super nice guys.

Support that claim?! Too funny...

http://www.theexperience.com/index.htm

Charlie has built their block, and they're running in the low 6's 1/4 mile - do the math... They're a handful of other teams kicking out close to 2000HP with Charlies blocks as well...
