Tilley's motor in a 5AT

I have been giving the idea of tilley's a lot of thought and I like it more and more. (See the thread in the FI section if you haven't yet. It's 8 pages long, can't miss it)
The only thing that I don't understand is, how is this possible to be taken advantage of in a 5AT tranny car. If you are in the full auto mode, then it will shift at it's pre-set shift points and I will not be able to rev past the usual 6600 unless I use the manual mode, or am I worng (I sure hope I am...). Is there a way to reset these points? How can it be done, if at all?
If I am to look at a different tranny option (not manual, I hate those), which should look at? Or this is a can of worms that sould not even be opened?
