Weird noise from lightweight pullies
I got lightweight pullies a couple months ago, and they work great, but a couple of weeks ago the started squeaking at idle, and they make this strange noise when I have the car in gear and the engine is winding now, a kind of pthff-fft-fft-fft-fft, but as soon as i touch the accelerator, it stops. You can only really hear it when you're next to a wall or something the sound will reflect off of, but I'm assuming it's the pullies. I asked sears to tension them properly when I got my oil changed recently, but they said that they had the proper tension. anyone have or know of a similar problem? or how to fix er? Thanks much!

I am thinking of doing that mod. what brand pullies did you get?
By the way that noise you described sounds more like your belt and not the pullies. Take a close look while the engine is running, make sure that there is no run-out on the pullies..Just my opinion..
