Default question regarding grounding kits!

hey all, merry belated x-mas and happy belated new year.. with all the hype surrounding the grounding kit phenomenon, i stumbled across a thought. i know the long term benefits surrounding the installation of a kit on an engine, but what are the possible drawbacks? what is the worst possible thing we might be doing to our engines with this mod, if there are any at all? although i highly doubt it, could we possibly be harming our engines? i've been reading up on the various grounding kits, and i would like to know what the possible long term effects might be, both the bad and the good. thanks.

I can't see any possible bad side effect other than the added weight.

There really isn't any drawback, as for weight, a few wires can't weigh that much.
