Default Increased shifter vibration, sign of something else?

After a high-RPM run, my shifter vibrates considerably more than normal...I can almost hear it. And its instant, too, not something that gradually builds. Once I push the clutch in and release it (in the same gear or another) the increased vibration goes away and it feels normal again.

I had a one-piece aluminum drive-shaft on my old Z32. One time it threw a balance weight and I had an instant crazy vibration. This is exactly what it feels like.

My concern is that the vibration is not localized in the shifter linkage, but somewhere else. And if its the drive-shaft, that could mean significant problems down the road.

Couple of things that may or may not matter...I've an '03 and have had the tranny replaced once. Also, I've a friend with an '03, original tranny, that has the same exact issue.

Anyone else experience this?

Dave
