These would make for an awsome NA setup. Fabricating them to fit would be easy,but to control them efficently I wouldnt know where to start.

That would be a mess. Getting rid of the drive-by wire and like you said controlling them would be crazy/difficult. You should start your project by learning the its not spelled "knolage", but "knowledge"

Lol I know there is a Japanese company that has a single TB kit, but iirc it was around $8-9,000 I forget which company though....not worth it imo.

itb? not really worth it imo...you will lose a lot down low, but gain topend. its moreso for track racing where the cars spend most of their time in the power band.

with a itb you will need to have a standalone to run it, not to mention the problem of getting it all to work right.

Yeah, i wouldnt try it, all the techs where i worked said that they were a ***** to fix. And they were trained to do it. Also, you want to custom fabricate a system that will work on it for your car. I would say a *** load of time and money. Just get a new plenum. You would probably get the same gains. But if you do attempt it. good luck. And then show us a pic when you either finish it, or f+ck up your car.

you also have to figure out some way to make a manifold for an inline six fit on the exhaust ports of a v6. and stand alone.

i think tommy kaira makes the itb kit that is mentioned in this thread.




too much work and $$ to be worth it.......although that is a pretty good price for that setup.

You definetly won't get anywhere near the gains with an aftermarket plenum. Having rode in a itb'd AE86 I can tell you it's a totally unique experience. That said ITB kits for the Z are rediculously overpriced so it's not worth it now... Maybe I should switch my major to mechanical engineering so I could design my own kit!

Getting rid of the drive-by wire
The M uses Throttle by Wire as well, would just need a rewire and make sure the signals are the same (which I would assume they aren't).
