A stock crank pulley? Nissan has been holding my car for over 6 days now, took im guessing 5 to get the part shipped for some odd reason, the pulley got in today at 4 and the shop manager tells me they will get to work on it tonight, and tomarrow morning should be ready around noon... umm how long does it really take to put a stock crank pulley on?

I had my UR crank pulley installed by a shop in about 1 hour. That was with them taking their time and having some issues getting the original crank bolt off.

K just curious cause they are estimating about 4 hours.... which will put me right in the middle of work and not being able to pick the car up for yet ANOTHER day. This nissan is fishy as heck and i wish they would give me the pulley and my car and let me do it myself. But its all warranty so still no cost to me, thank god

30 - 60 mins at any dealer. Sounds like the dealer is have some issues.

Maybe they mean that it will take 3 hours before they can get to it and 1 hour to actually do the swap.

I would be willing to bet that they are not just using a breaker bar and a socket. They are most likely removing the radiator, etc. so that they can use an air gun.

an hour is 80 bucks...
4 hours is 320 for something that cost... like 160 retail?
wtf
i'd pay 1/2 the product cost on labor max...

Took me 45 minutes my first time, I did another Z's cp and that took me about 30 min. Guys dont fight the cp with a breaker bar to get it off try this:

Place your breaker bar with the socket on it on the cp bolt. Now set the bar at a 5 o'clock position with a long breaker bar, or a breaker bar and a pipe. Essentially you want the bar/pipe basically touching the floor. Now go and turn the motor with the ignition 2 or 3X. Do not start the car just crank it and shut off. The starter will loosen the crank pulley bolt for you with no damage. Save yourself the hassle of having somebody stand on the brake with the car in gear, and having somebody fighting that bolt with a breaker bar. Ive done this 2X now, makes a cp install super easy.

well if you decide to do it this way, you want the breaker laying towards the drivers side on the ground. i mean it sounds like it can work, but if the socket slips or something, your radiator might not like a breaker bar popping into it.
i jsut used a breaker and a section of pipe. put the trans in park or 6th gear. seems this would still be faster as you don't need to pull the lower pan or get under the car at all.

It took me 1 hour and 15 or so my first time. I had never even tightened the belts in the Z. Second time only took me 45 minutes....

after i installed my UR pulley i tightened the tensioners to get rid of the squeel in cold, and now i have a nice little clicking sound coming from pulley area... mechanic told me to take all the belts off and see which pulley gives a little and thats the one i need to tighten, but i tightened all bolts literally as tight as they will go, and the noise persist... anyone know what else i can try? i doesnt click ALL the time, but as soon as idle calms all the way down to about 800 or so wherever it sits, it starts, and when accessories come on like AC and stuff. Another mechanic said it may be the water pump gauge thats doing the clicking cause of all the weight its taking on now, but i have no clue how to fix it! and there is no way im taking it to nissan cause they will blame it on the pulley i replaced

sorry so long

only reason it would take more than an hour would be if they had to remove any turbo piping. Other than that, they're trying to drop 'da bone on ya'.

it takes no time once you have the right tool..or like what some others have said, if they have to remove your intercooler or turbo piping

cheers
