i have put off getting cams because with the experience that ive had over my life watching my friends play internally(rebuilds etc) ive realized 1 thing. changing internals shortens the reliablility of the motor and i think it might also last longer.
but then i think. the came are made by nismo and they should have R&D behind them etc.
so does anyone else here stray away from cams because they think there might be reliability issues in the future? i want my Z to cruise for its full 200kmiles that the motor was built to run for.
and one quick last Q. what kind of power would i see out of
Intake/Plen/headers/test pipes/injen full 2.25 true duel/ and a great Utec tuner? vs. everything just posted but with cams added?

unless you mod your car there is no reason that the life of the motor should be getting any shorter. The main this that shortens the life of the engine is when you make the cams work harder than they were originally intended to, kind of like red lineing. the pistons are working harder then they should which in turn reduces the life of the engine.

Installing cams you have to be very specific and take measurements to make sure the lifter valves are within tollerance with the new cams...
its not a just bolt in install...
an experienced tech should do thee work...

Look at the bright side. When it comes time to do a re-build, do a reeeebuild...heheheh!
But everything in your list I think you are pushing 300 WHP. That is if that UTEC is really all that, & depending on the headers and cams you select.
Before I put the stock plenum back on my tuner had the Z up to 288 whp on his load dyno.
