Default Perf question

It seems everyone is chomping it to bit to get a CAI. I am curious has anybody done a comparison on the differance hp gain between a CAI and just changing out the airfilter to a k&n. I am a CAI fan, but I do not think the bang for the buck is there. just curious

My feeling on CAI is this. Bottom line, open cones air filters flow more CFM of air than enclosed paper. That's a given. Whether the car translates that into power right now is argueable, however it certainly will make a difference when the ECU is updated with a more aggressive program to supply the now required air for the A/F mixture.

$250 is not a bad price for beautiful hardware you get with a kit like Injen or AEM.
