PROTOTYE R1 ENGINE & SPECS
Aerodynamic volume displacement: 3498 cc
Max Output: 340ps/7600rpm ( projected goal )
Max Torque: 37.0kgm/rpm ( ~ 268 lb/ft )
Total length: 4310 mm
Total length: 1815 mm
Total height: 1315 mm
Wheel base: 2650 mm
NA tuning it is.
Looks like you will be able to purchase the R1 Engine as a stand alone unit like one of GM's crate engines.
The car was designed specifically for serious track enthusiats but should be road legal (at least in Japan). I'm assuming the cats were not removed and that a large part of the gains come from proper ECU re-mapping. Some of you may or may not know but the ECU is key on the VQ35. Various sources claim the latent horsepower from the ECU alone is in the range of 20 - 50 or so hp. If parts are added and the ECU is not properly tuned it may not recognize them and default into a "limp mode" giving you less than optimal performance.
For people who were upset with having to purchase the regular bodykit - including the front bumper and lip spoiler - while it was still FRP, this one should resolve that concern. It's carbon. You didn't think Nismo would sit idle while just about eveyone had a carbon aero option did you?

Hehe
Like back in the 80s when Mitsubishi wanted to come out with a car to compete with the Mustang, so they named it the "Stallion". At its unveiling the press heard and reported it as the Japanese spokesman pronounced it, the "Starion". Embarased they stuck with the reported name, priceless!

Check out the link I posted earlier & put a bit of work in with the translator, it's a whole lot more than an ECU fix
