5th or 4th there isn't to much of a difference. Some dyno operators don't like to run a car at 140 mph were 4th is 110 mph.

Thats really dissapointing man, you should be at the 270's range with your mods... I guess you're running too lean

as you said its time for a piggyback, I say with the UTEC you'll gain at least 15 whp,, Good luck and keep us posted!

244whp is fine. try to compare those numbers to other z's on that same dyno. also do u have a baseline on that same dyno? if not then there is no way u can say thats low. all dynoes read different.

The test should be done in the gear which the gear ratio is 1.000. For the manual transmission, that is 5th gear.

It was a dynojet and my car is North American specs.

Stock Z's here dyno at around 225 (gulf spec)

Will dynoing at 4th give me less reading??

It should'nt be a big difference, but as shown above is should be at the 1.0 gear ratio. Our stock gulf specs (including mine) dyno at 240whp.

It might be because of the extra heat/hot weather in kuwait, but even tho I assume you dynoed now adays where the temp. is kinda cold. You cant really tell if your car made a huge diffrence unless you have a baseline dyno.

Hey i have a question! Not to highjack the thread, just wanted a quick question answered. I have a 5at with the 3.5 differential from the manual, what gear should i dyno at now? Is it still 4th like other automatics or do i dyno at 5th now?? 5th gear is my last gear tho...

Unless you have a way to fully lock up the torque converter in 4th, AT's should be dynoed in 3rd gear. While it's not the 1:1 ratio it produces the highest numbers in 99% of the AT cars we've seen dyno. Why? I believe it's because of the partial 4th gear TC lock-up design.

As for MT's 5th (1:1) gear is indeed best for most cars. However the speed limiter can/does prevent the rev-up engine cars from reaching their maximum 7000 rpm level.

What!? In what gear? Im assuming you mean 5th because thats what we are discussing. 287hp model Z's top out at 142mph in 5th at fuel cut with stock redline. Now add 500rpm's higher with the same gearing and your trying to tell us that they can hit 159mph in 5th? With only 500rpm's more? I highly doubt it. Seeing as how 5th at 7100rpm on my car was around 150....

So your saying my AT should dyno at 3rd gear?? I kno readings are higher at 3rd gear, but would it be less accurate since its not a 1:1 ratio?? Also would my 3.5 differential affect the readings?? and maybe i dont have a 1:1 ratio anymore at 4th gear???
