Thumbs up AEM ECU for the 350Z

We at Sound Performance are happy to say that we have made a deal with AEM to produce the AEM ECU for the 350Z. Sound Performance and AEM are going to work together to make this all happen. This set up will piggy back off your stock ECU so all your gauges and throttle by wire are still functional. This will fix all your tuning problems for any super charged, turbo, and N/A cars. This ECU will allow you to have full control of fuel, spark, timing and many other variables of tuning. So no more SAFC or e-manage. If you are ready to make real power and have a safe tune then the AEM will be the way to go. We do not have a release date yet but we are working on it as we speak. This 350Z AEM ECU will only be available through Sound Performance. We are going to test this ECU on our shop Pro charged 350…Please feel to post your option. We would like to hear some feed back on this project…

Sounds like a good start. What about things such as:

Selectable maps on the fly?
GUI- What is the tuning interface?
What equipment is necessary to tune it?
Ability to increase redline and top speed?
Pricing etc

Well you will need a lap top a dyno and a AEM tuner. I will have to check into the maps on the fly? The redline can be what ever you want. The top speed limiter will be gone... We do not have pricing just yet. As soon as I now I will give details and start taking orders.

Well maybe but the AEM ECU is one of the best out at this time. We have been using them on Supra's from day one and they work great. We have a Supra that makes 1520 at the wheels through the AEM ECU. I think this ECU will be one of if not the best for the 350Z. It has so many things you can do.

Yea that car is pretty sick. We are putting our shop supra back together this year. It should be as crazy as Marko's or maybe better...

That is good to hear, the AEM is a very nice unit and will be nice to see what they come out with for the Z.

Anyone at AEM that we can contact to confirm this? I may be mistaken, but AEM has never allowed just one shop to sell their EMS systems. Last I heard from AEM (about 2 months ago), is that they were still in development phase, but no ETA.

Well AEM is not going to make one because of the throttle by wire. So since we are a very big AEM ECU dealer and Larry is one of the best turners in the country nad factory trained Jason @ AEM is going to help with the unit. We are going to make the wire harness and modify there box. AEM is going to put a specail part number on the box that you can only get threw SP. If you need to talk to Kirk Miller he knows all about it...or you can talk to Jason head of the ECU department..

I can confirm this authenticity. I know Larry @ Sound Performance and his connections inside AEM. Sound Performance is no joke, and frankly I am scared that I might finally have some 350z competition on the streets of Chicago pretty soon.

Larry and Jason our very good friends. We have been using AEM from day one with the supras. Jason is one of people that created the AEM ECU. Kirk Miller is the head of AEM he sponsored my show winning scion and also sponsored our 350 Z. So I would not put a post and lie about working with a great company like AEM..

I think this is more along the lines of a EU no way a utec... This is a piggyback unit where the utec is a stand alone and also can work with the stock ecu.

Well the AEM is a stand alone also. We are just using the factory ecu to run the gauges and little things every thing else will be the same as the plug and play stand alone. This ECU has to many options to list check out aempower.com

Intresting... before you said it was a piggyback format??? So this is a complete stand alone unit or does it work with the ecu.
