Need help w/ pulley!
I can not figure a way to get off my alternator pulley! tried using stock belt and vice grips but pulley slid in belt. stock belt and tensioner as tight as I could go and still a no go. Strap wrench didn't work. had no idea what else to try so put a clamp around it and it slid in that too!!! Buggered up the metal a bit too so I can't just put the belts on and forget about it anymore, now I have to get this sucker off. I don't care if it destroys the thing now, just someone tell me how to get this thing off!
Thanks!
Thanks!
im assuming the pulley still spins while u try to remove it? use a wrench in one hand and a socket in another.
just grab onto one of the bolts with teh wrench then attach the socket to another. push them in opposite directions, using the socket to break free the bolts. they should not be tq down very much and should come right free.
hope this helps
