Default WHAT? no fuel filter!

So I'm at the dealer Sat. picking up an oil filter, and I ask for a fuel filter since I'm at 30,000 and the parts man takes 10 min. looking on the computer for it. Finally he gives up and goes to the service area to ask a tech and they say theres a fuel strainer inline somewhere but they're not sure {WTF} I'm thinking. So anyone had this problem, surely theres a serviceable filter somewhere, any help is appriciated.

It's intergrated into the fuel pump assembly which is essentially un-accessable since it's inside the fuel tank. The service manual lists the fuel filter as a "maintenance free item".

yep, it's basically a little bag that sits infront of where the fuel pump picks up

Thanks guys, guess I'm old school especially with crap they call gasoline today. Funny I had an MR2 turbo once, went to buy a fuel filter the guy says it's a lifetime filter but he had 8 in stock.

My "fuel filter" at 54K miles looked perfectly clean when I modified the assembly and put a Walbro pump in for the TN kit.

Actually the fuel pump pick-up sock filter is not the only filter.

There is another filter that is inside the plastic assembly that you cannot see or access without ruining the assembly.

I know, because when doing fuel system R&D I bought one new from Nissan and cut it up to see whats going on in there.

You that could be a potential hazard to a FI motor if it even partially clogged and leaned the motor out [Boom].
