I searched the previous threads. The only few ones that I found were here before the UTEC was even available, so here is a new one.
Pricewise, the UTEC is similar to the EU after all the accessories (harness, etc) are about same, less then a 100$ difference, so cost is not a deciding factor.
The Greddy catalog states that the EU can do ajustments on the auto trannies (like shift points or something? They did not provide much explanation there...). Does a UTEC have a similar function?
Abd does the EU still have the frying coilpacks issues?

Oleg, good to see the research is continuing
The UTEC currently doesnt modify shift points, or control the AutoTranny. Maybe with future fireware upgrades.
The EU has this control but I cant confirm if it works on the 5AT 350z. Maybe someone else has experimented with it....wish I could help more.

Except that I am not a DIY'er. I drive a 5AT. I don't even know how shift my own gears, do you think I would know how to do my own labor?

And what does one need to run the Greddy at the standard 5.6 PSI safely? Just the BOV and a fuel pump? I want to get used to driving a turbo Z first with conservative power for a few month and then start upping the boost...

BTW, I noticed VQ30DE, you are drive a Maxima? Just curious?
Last night we tuned a 04' 5at convertible with a Greddy twin turbo kit, test pipes and E-manage Ultimate. No exhaust or anything else, and we got 360hp @ 8psi on pump gas. the car feels awsome. The EU is an awsome piece for an awsome price, be carefull because the utec is a new piece with a good marqup and alot of people are going to try to sell it to you. The EU has been prooven alot allready. my 2 cents.

Did you make any use of the auto-tranny control feature of the EU?
And since I have your attention, which are your 5AT mods, if any?
BTW, the pump gas in where you're at, is it 93 or higher/lower?
The EU AT feature is for advancing or retarding timing when shifting. We retarded a few degress on the shifts to be safe. this car has no tranny mods at all and the pump gas here is 93oct.
From other a/t FI 350z here, the stock tranny is ok until 400hp after that is bye bye time.

Do you know if the EU is still burning coilpacks? I leave my car in hands of parking attendants rather often and they tend to leave the key in ignition.
And what about software upgrades for the EU? Is it free like for UTEC?

BTW, are you missing the 1-2 shift in full auto mode at WOT?
