Depends on mods, car, tune, many factors..The UTEC itself allows you to tune your vehicle for your mods..

15whp is reasonable..The Throttle body mod is debatable..IMO

if you plan on leaving your car somewhat stock then dont get it, but if you plan FI or a built NA. or even just building it up a decent amount, then get it. Utec is stupid for TB,intake, exhaust.

I beg to differ. There is about 10 hp to be unleashed on a stock car itself..

I agree that the UTEC is one of the best ECU options out right now, but at $1G+ thats a lot for your average home wrench turner to spend for 10hp. although I guess hp in general is pretty expensive on a VQ.

$90/HP is silly considering UTEC is a basic computer.
When someone offers EMCPiggyBack for $300 everyone will buy it.

Thats pretty good considering the amount of money people are putting into exhaust systems. 10hp for 1000 bucks is not bad IMO. And the Utecs are actaully going for $845 now.

But people will pay 1/3 rd of the cost of a UTEC for a CAI that actually looses power...

not only does it give you power, you can also increase the redline. having more room to play with is important to a lot of people.

and most of the exhausts for a z run close to 900. and ive yet to see one that gains more than ~11whp.

I gained 14whp w/ UTEC after tuning.

I'm going FI in the near future, so adding UTEC was a no brainer.

pick a vendor. MRC, Z1, Sharif. whoever you like the most, and can give you a good price.

For those with only N/A on the horizon, UTEC is overpriced with a lousy user interface. The EM market potential is huge so eventually a Manufacturer will address it. I can't wait for that.

So if you already have a reflash ( AAM ) and your NA is there any reason to buy the Utec other than the possibilty of going FI?

Thanks
