oh in the mean time...try keep pumping the clutch pedal..while keeping an eye on the fluid level in the reservior...

I cant pinpoint yet if you have a hydralic issue or mechanical...kind of sounds like both haha

if you are still within your 3/36 and you havent done any mods in regards to the clutch, it should be covered...

if your out of the 3/36...it still might be covered under the 5/60 powertrain, but you would need to check the fine print...

give Andy @ performance nissan a call tomorrow....

just my $0.02

bad gets little bit worse. Snuck into the woknig area to talk the head tech, and he said that it wasnt good. My clutch was basically down to the metal, which in turn kinda messed up my fly wheel which in combination caused the hose to leak. SOOOO, he said that once the service guy calls me, i should be expecting about a $2500.00 dollar call. i dont drive the car that hard, so the previous owner must have drove that **** to the ground. Well, i wasnt sure if i wanted to mod my clutch and flywheel, so i guess its an easy decision now. But thanks again guys for all the support and help.

Through my experience...though not as much as those techs, but I would say I have a good amount of high performance experience....

the order of failure that you listed is not typical. Typically its the line that will fail (begin to leak pressure) which in turn will wear the clutch plate down and subsequentially to the point where the bare metal of the plate will wear your flywheel.

Look at it this way, if your line leaks and doesnt have full pressure, everytime you press the clutch pedal down, the clutch isnt 100% being disengaged. Its basically having slight contact as if you were slipping the clutch. As time goes on, there will be less pressure and more contact..to the point where it wears down the clutch disc and then the flywheel...

thats just my $0.02...and I could be 100% wrong in this case...but thats just from my experience....

yea, its gonna be kinda hard now since my tranny is already out. Hopefully, i can talk them down to a more reasonable price. Probably gonna go with Nismo clutch/flywheel since they will probably have it in stock.

make sure they show you the old parts.and if you dont know what you are looking at look at the rivets in the clutch lining and see if they are even with the clutch material,if so yes the clutch is bad, also look and see where the so called metal to metal contact is,also the clutck failure would not cause the line to leak.

my nissan dealer said it would cost me a grand to get the nismo clutch and flywheel installed. they are just trying to stick it to you bc they know that you need it i would just talk them down and do the nismo then you have a part that is under warranty.

The problem that you are experiencing with your clutch happened to me as well. It didn't have anything to do the with fluids. When I took it to the dealer, they told me the that the clutch was worn, but that that wasn't the reason for the failure.

I have Nissan's extended warranty (which doesn't cover the clutch). However, after they took a look at the car, the were actually able to replace all parts (including the clutch) under warranty.

They didn't really give an explaination as to what was wrong, all they said was that it was a "chain reaction", somewhat similar to what they told you. When I get home tonight, I will look to see if they listed exactly which parts they replaced and get back to you.

GREAT NEWS GUYS!! The service guy just called and and his first words were... "i have some good news"... They found a mechanical error (they didnt specify). Although they still were trying to put some blame on the clutch wear on my driving, they said that were going to cover the whole thing under warranty!!! Whew, what a load off my shoulders. The weekend looks much brighter now...thought i was going to have to eat ramen for a few months.
