Another UTEC question

sorry, being EMS incompetent, I want to make sure I understood right.
I plan on tuning the car NA(almost all bolt-ons) and then going FI later this year (and use the UTEC as EMS).
Is the base unit really enough for a proper NA tune at first? What would be the proper upgrade path? When do the "extras" really become a necessity?

All you need is the base unit.... then once you go fi, all you need is the map sensor.... then once you do that, then you'll want the map switch, then you'll want a tuner pro, knock lite, shift light, boost control solenoid, water injection, and everything else turboxs has and then some....
