I apologize if this a re-post.
While looking at the valve body on the SGP's website I saw that they recommend it with a cooler (duh!) and a torque converter, because the VB upgrade generates more heat. This is where I get really furbubbled. I was under a full impression that the upgraded torque converters actually ADD heat to the tranny and the stock TQ is pretty robust. I also though that with extra pressure on the clutches from the VB upgrade the tranny is supposed to actually run cooler. Was I wrong or did I misunderstand something on the SGP's site? I don't want to think that someone is overselling the TQ upgrades...

Thank you.
I kinda wondered the same thing . Maybe it will run a little cooler for every day driving and hotter when put thru hard driving , dont know . Just to let you know , the SGP valve body is kick A$$ !!!!!!!!!!
upgraded, or higher stall converters slip more and that is what generates the heat. true the faster the clutch packs engage, the less they slip, thus the less heat generated from the clutch packs. but the converter will add heat very quickly, even in normal driving. trans coolers are always a good idea when doing auto trans upgrades. most auto trans failures or short life spans are due to heat. i believe the rule of thumb is, lower your trans temp by 20 degrees and gain 20,000 more miles, lol.
