Alrigth guys, i have received my UTEC and am almost done but TurboXS has failed to leave out some small stuff
-Do i use the 9v battery adapter? What necessarily is the purpose for it?
-Where do i hook up the red/white wires from the solenoid connections?
-What application do i open the V2.3 software with?
-Can the intake/exhuast base map be safe to use to start off?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The battery adapter is for when your utec is out and you want to flash in maps or software updates, so you don't really need it.
If your N/A, you won't need to connect the black and red to anything...
You shouldn't have to reflash the unit with the new software because it should already come with 2.3 otherwise just use the m16c_flash_v124.exe program that was included....
The provided map is pretty conservative, you should be fine... its just a good place to start.
Once you get your's up and running, you should list your mods and upload a map so we can compare and stuff?
This thing is so fun to play with...

Arghhhhhh. Now my car is not running like it should.
I started the car and it started up just fine. I noticed my idle was a bit rough and my exhaust note sounds different. I don't know how accurate the AF readings are here, but i'm reading 18.1:1 at idle. Is it running lean?
I tap the pedal and floor it and the car is not revving up. It slowly revs up to 1500 rpm max and it STAYS THERE. I double checked everything and it looks good in terms of install.
My MAF voltage doesn't go above 1.6
What to do guys? Help me out!

I'm not 100% sure why, but mine did that too. It ran really rough, and actually might have went into limp mode, or who knows, but my slip, vdc, cel lights all went off too at first.
I reset the battery, and about 5 mins later everything ran fine when I turned the car back on. Then my car would die as rpms dropped really low when going to idle after each rev for about 30 mins. (All this, but I hadn't taken my car out yet)
Afterwards, everything ran great so I took it out for a spin for the first time on closed loop just to make it sure it ran okay, and it did. Then I switched to open loop and it seemed to push harder, but maybe it was just me. Now I'm just playing with it till I get my TN kit in..... I have a plenum and exhaust only right now on the car.

The switch is on 0. I also don 't know if this matters or not. The setup is not fully bolted up the console but it's still laying on the plastic bag. I've been talking to another member and mentioned the ECU probably needs ground when it is mounted? I don't know if this may be a potential issue.
The HyperTerminal is working just fine, no issues.

Wow and i just noticed another problem.
My window won't retract/go up that extra inch when you close it. How nice.
Good thing i didn't check if my AC stopped working.

Maybe something shorted and blew a fuse? That sucks. Aside from checking the connections, reflashing software and maps, making sure its grounded right, switch on 0, un-hook battery, *shrugs*
i just bought a 9v battery and am going to play with it inside for now and see what i can figure out, mine runs lean every once in a while, i am thinking that it might have been the person who tuned it for another car, i am going to play around with it and see how far off the setting are from the base map settings....

So any ideas for me guys? I'm thinking of returning this thing. I am dissapointed.
Right now i'm looking maybe the unit needs to be installed and bolted under the console to be properly grounded? But then i'm doubting that is the case because the OEM ECU worked just fine with it not mounted.
I'll call TurboXS and MRC tomorrow. I am very disspointed. I hope Jermaine gets to help me out here.

What mods do you have? probably not much of a factor if you've just got basic bolt-ons but ? Else, if you've tried all of those things, I can't think of anything else right now..... Sorry man... Maybe you can meet up next week and put my unit in your car just to see if its not a problem with the unit?
Any luck yet? I was going to mention, that if you connectors are fine, then I would do a full fireware flash, and start from scratch. From what I understand, Jermaine tests each of the UTEC's on his own car, prior to shipping them. We've done 7 so far, and they all were working fine.
I know that doesnt help your situation, but maybe its something simple like the fireware. Either way, I think Jermaine and MRC will get it straightened out.
