Default shifting into 5th or 6th gear at high speeds?

does anyone have trouble getting the car into 5th or 6th gear under extreme racing conditions on the highway. sometimes my car wont let me shift into those gears near redline from 4th. i have to let off a little then it will finally go in.

Your car is smarter than you... you shouldnt be racing on the highway.
Mine works fine on the drag strip.

why not just answer his question instead of voicing your useless opinions? If he wants to race let him.
Peronsally, i've never done a high speed shift from 5th-6th, but it might be how u shift. Theres actually a notch on the right most side of teh H pattern that the shifter can get stuck in, which happens to me at lower speeds. Try shifting straight into 6th instead of to the right hard and then down

After installing Clutch Masters 8 puck. It's harder to shift into 5th gear for me. If i shift all the way to the right it doesnt go in. But i got use to it after alittle. And yes you shouldn't race on the highway as much keep it on the tracks =)

seriously! i'll drive how i want. i do have a short throw too though. that might make it a little more difficult. it's smooth as normal with normal shifting.

Try to shift straight into 6th instead of letting it ride the ridge of the H pattern.

Have anything useful to say? Guess not, then stfu.

I have this problem also. 6th gear is very hard to get into gear when doing triple digits on the highway. It's extremely hard when you redline 5th. You're not alone dude.

Extreme racing takes me to the top of 4th gear at the dragstrip. Other than that I have little racing use for 5th and 6th gears.

I do see your point about his question; however he is saying that he is racing on the highway. He is endangering every person on the road (including your loved ones). I just can't understand how people can be so irresponsible!

let me clear something up....i only said racing conditions to describe the type of driving.... i'm not weaving in and out of cars at 110+ mph. I'm just talking about in general. Everyone has taken there car and seen what mph they can get up to. That's what I'm talking about. We have cars that have *****, so grow some and use them.

oh I see... you should be just fine seeing how fast your car can go, until something gets in front of you. Since your car already have the *****, all you need to do is grow some brains..... I forgot, like you said "and use it"

I have a problem going from 3rd to 6th.
For instance, I will go from a light to a freeway on-ramp and speed up to match traffic but if I go 1-2-3 too fast and/or try to shift from 3rd into 6th at high rpm the car won't let me. Is this bad for it and that is why the synchro is not letting me? I don't have the probem if I go into 4th then into 6th.
