Hey will pulleys make difference on a 5at??

My goal is 290 rwhp on my 5at... I have the mods in my sig and plan on getting a Utec and Cams. Ive heard hfc's just make the car louder, headers just make the car louder (it's my daily driver-heard this from Wired 24/7), and pulleys dont make much power at all on an 5at....

I never said headers don't make power...

just that I don't want them on my car personally.

^^ not worth the trade off huh? power gains versus, decibel gain of sound? I feel ya, I'm a daily driver Z too.. I dont know if it's worth the cost and labor...on the other hand cams are more worth it in my opinion, no gain in noise levels, however 17rwhp sounds good to me....(im picking up a good deal on a used set).

17whp is generous for cams...i've seen dynos of mild street cams (the ones for 262 duration) for only13-15 on a 6speed...a 5AT will be lower

^^ why will it be lower for 5AT? Drivetrain loss is higher? Whats the percentage drivetrain loss for 5at?
17rwhp was an estimate from Sharif for the Tomei 268 cams.

268 are pretty aggressive...be aware that the more aggressive the cam the more hp/tq sacrificed in the lower to mid range to aquire top/peak power. on dynos even mild cams like nismo or jwt lose a little down low to get peak hp up top.

percentage of drivetrain loss is kinda fluctuates. i've seen stock 5ATs dyno at 210 whp which would be a 27% drive train loss to 220whp stock which would be around a 23% drivetrain loss (5ATs rated at 287hp to the crank)

I gained 10whp from my headers and 8whp on my HFC's. Didnt just make my car louder.

it's still read it as whp. they take off the wheels and supposedly, you get more of an accurate reading.. especially when you're measuring your gains..

The dynopack, which measures at the wheel hubs, tends to generate readings without load and usually produces higher results; unless it's calibrated with load in the equation.

As long, as the whp readings, base and after mod is done on the same machine the gains are valid.

But still it is not feasable to compare dyno results, when load, weather, environment cooling factor, etc can effect the readings.

In general, it's reasonable to use a 20% reduction factor for the 5AT.
