i called the dealership again this morning and talked to the gm. he told me that he doesnt warranty cars there i would have to call nissan. i got a buddy of mine to go up there and talk to the new car manager we are all friends with. he told my friend that they know that i was running nos on the car thats why thy wont warranty it. my friend told him that i wasnt running it and he said that their techs think i was. this is bs and i've been waiting a week to hear from a nissan customer service rep, i've also let 5 voice mails but nothing yet. the gm has it in for me bc i demanded something in writting how and why the chain broke but he wanted nothing to do with it and hung up. wow wainting for my friend why works at a law firm to call me back this $hit is fixin to chainge.

They can do an oil test to determine if you were running N20. Have them do it and when it comes back negative tell them to warranty your engine.

found out today why the dealership did not want to warranty the car and why nissan said that they wouldnt. i little fu**** that works in parts said that he say me down at the track hooking up nitrous to my car and blowing my motor. he was telling a buddy of mine this and he acted like he knew everything about cars. i think he was like 20 and my buddy said so thanks to you they arent gonna warranty the car. he said yep and my buddy said i feel sorry for you bc your fixin to tote a major a$$ whoppin. so thanks to a guy lying in parts. i talked to my lawayer and i'm fixin to get me a new car or they will just have to pay mine off.

the only way to check for a bent valve is to pull the heads off and check each valve for out of round.
i kissed a valve once on the strip in my vette. had a ticking for a couple days and wrote it off as a lifter needing adjustment (solid cam) from my mechanics stethoscope. well yes i had found the exact location of the noise, but it was a bent valve and not excessive rocker clearance. it took those 2 days to fatigue the valve and it snapped off and absolutely destroyed the entire engine!!!!! split the cylinder and shoved the valve head through the chamber of the head. bent rod and bent crank.
just a word of advice. if a valve was hit, it could be fine for a short time, but it can snap of from fatigue of bending straight hitting the seat. you would end up with a pile of metal.

jcarp,

Not to sound insensitive here buddy, but are you a 12 year old girl? WTF? You let this go on two weeks?? I was ready to torch the dealership after they gave me the run around over top separation.. I would be parking a trebuchette in their lot over this ****.

Grow a pair and go in there and raise some hell over this.

Maybe not quite in sq40's terms, but yeah, you need to get on their ***. If you can't get a buddy lawyer to handle in a timely manner, hire one now if that is the route you think you need to go. Honestly I don't see how you can't get this resolved without one. BBB is always an avenue for shiit like this too, but whatever it takes, go do it.

FWIW, you won't get a new car though, and it's silly to think you would. You should totally expect to have the car repaired completely though while maintaining full factory warranty.

the dealership has nothing to do with this nissan has already told me that they wont warranty it bc there is no record of this. i have made a trip to the dealership and raised hell and shorty after the cops showed up to escort me off the lot. they said that it is out of their hands and i have to deal with nissan. my lawayer is in contact with nissan and hopefully i'll have a new motor before long. some things arent as easy as u think especially when the gm and all the people that work there think that they are god and u aint $hit and nobody tells them what to do. i cought 1 of the part guys that lied to nissan about my car and threated to whip his as$ but he sped off and havent seen him since. trust me i got big ones and nissan is gonna pay up i just hate being without my car trust me there is not much more to do in my position except get a lawayer to go after them. i'll never own a new nissan again thanks to this.

if it is only slightly bent it would still bend enough to possibly make a seal on the seat when closed. but it would fatigue and break over time.
really, once the timing cover is off, it isn't to much more work to pull the heads. i know it is a ton of work, but better than a total motor loss. you could prolly pull the heads and just look at the pistons for small marks. when the chain broke, valve spring pressures should have set each bank of cams to where all the valves are closed, but you never know.

are the gears attached to the crank by a key. didnt know if that broke off then it would just spin freely and the chain is still intact.

Give em' hell! I'm with you dude, I fully support you woopin any of their ***'s. I have a 06 also and my trans is making a weird noise plus my rear end. When nissan fixes my problems I will shove my size 13's up their *** if anything else happens. Get an attorney and look into the lemon law, dont let these bastards get the upper hand. Call nissan of north america a million times if you have to, harrass them until they give you a legit answer. If not let your top notch attorney send court papers until they cringe. Good Luck
