All are great invetments but I still stand 100% behind mine. CAI cost too much for one, 2) no need to spend all of it on an exhaust when you just need to remove the cat or Y-Pipe. 3) The space is hands down the best bang for the buck. So if you can't come up with another $300 get the PopCharger, Spacer, & Cat-deletes or Y-Pipe.

Trust me with the APS pips it sounds nothing like stock and IMO better than the Nismo. Also I can't bring myself to spend $900+ for 3-4 whp. Guess if you want to "sound" cool go ahead, but not me.

yeah well.. i had test pipes with stock exhaust for a while ( like 2 months)
it has the M3-esque sound... you know the hollow, dry, E46 M sound
very nice for OEM, but nismo is definately in another catagory of nice compared to stock/oem

lol

NIZMOE!
Eh... first of all, i'd rather not get into how much i spent lol...
I know no way i'll be at 249whp lol for the reason that nismo doesnt generate alot of hp, but the noise and quality is definately grade A.
Strup headers are still in the garage so... (ha)
An educated guess would probably claim my car to be 240-245whp? i dont know...
but handling wise, the car is on riding on rails!
There are basically three approaches to basic car tuning - power, handling, looks... i chose handling

Thats cool. I'm working with Ingalls in Co for adjustable control arms and other suspentions mods. I too would like to get some suspentions mods but with R&D going on I need to keep it stock. I am interested in getting Eibach w/ Koni's.

i have to say your 800 worth of mods is really good...
i spent 800 dollars on brakes alone (nismo pads are no joke expensive)

I would get one of those things that everybody has been talking about. I don't remember the name but it makes some insane horsepower. Just do a search. You'll find it.

Well personally id say wait and find deals from people here on the board. I personally spent 100 on my JWT popcharger, 400 for a crawford plenum and strut bar, and 450 for my borla exhaust (all including install). But, as for the biggest performance gain for the buck I would say prob. the JWT popcharger, some sort of plenum mod (spacer or new plenum), and test pipes (I know intense motor sports sells em for like 120 bucks). Could get all three for ~ 500. (might have to install your self...especially the plenum/intake, they are easy)

500 should get you a 3.9 final drive. If you can do the install yourself. That would be the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

$110 JWT Popcharger, install DYI, decent gains, even better sound
$200 Alpine CDA-9856 headunit, stock headunits suck ****, youll be amazed how good the stock clairion speakers sound with a good headunit, plus youll be able to play your mp3's in your car now. DIY install, its simple.
$40 for headunit fit kit and harness

these are two mods that you will notice immediately and enjoy immensely.

$150 left to play with, I would do all the little things at this point.

$25 shorty antenna
$25 Z or Nismo license plate frame
$50 nismo shift ****
$30 clear corners
$20 food and beer for your buddy to help you with installing everything.

Get a little better vanity, performance and acoustics departments. $500 well spent.
