UTEC USB Support?
Has anyone been able to get the UTEC working while connecting to is using the a USB cable only? I know you can use the Serial adapter, however Jermaine said that you can connect by using only the USB ports on the unit.
It works. You have to goto your device manager, and find out which COM port the UTEC is connected to. Then it's just a matter of setting up a connection in Hyperterminal, and selecting the appropriate com port.
And of course, make sure you have downloaded the USB driver from TXS's website.

1. You need to install the USB drivers in your Laptop. This drivers are a emulator of a serial port.
2. Open the HyperTerminal ( I assume that you configured the HyperTerminal first with the com port emulated by your USB drivers. You need to do this with the car switch on and with the USB cable connected).
3. Turn on the car switch.
4. Press Esc to refresh your screen. This is because initially you will give a blank screen due to the delay of the computer to recognize the USB port.

I'm connected. Apparently, when I originally hooked it up, Windows found the wrong USB driver and installed it. I hadn't unziped the driver, so the wizard probably didn't see it. I just had to go in to "add hardware" and use the CD.
Thank for the help.
