I shift my '03 5AT at 7000 quite often with my Vortech. Sometimes my tach goes to almost 7800 during shifts. I figure this is an error in my stock gauage. No slipping or issues so far. (Occasional slip during low rpm cruising)

+1 I shift my 04.5 at 7100rpm but thats because of my reflash and my Rev-up lower plenum. I never take it higher than that though.

so shifting at 7200 is safe for the ones with the rev up motor huh.. but does it make power all the way up there, anyone know a good shifting point for a NA Rev-up motor with some mods.. like me for instance.. sometimes i feel i should shift earlier maybe its time to experiment but damn out track jst closed so i guess i need to find a spot away from ppl.

Power stops at around 6500rpm's. For revups, especially those with MREV's(power falls faster) I suggest 7100 for 1-2 ,6700 after that....

Am I correct in saying that in the 5AT, fuel cut is 6600...but for some odd reason the rev limiter is 6900? I read this somewhere on this forum almost a year ago and I wanted to know if there was truth to it. When I shift out at the track, a perfect shift "looks" like it is shifting at 7100ish, but I know its not actually revving that high.

I may be dead wrong and my tach may be off but I'm not 100% sure.

when i had my supercharger i rev'd mine to 7500rpms almost every day w/ about 7-9lbs of boost approx. Never had any problems, raced it up there and also bounced off it quite a few times doing burnouts and donuts....i pushed the stock block pretty far. never had any problems. changed the oil every 2-3k miles depending on how much i raced that month or mileage amount.

On the 03 04 de the oil pump piston is good to 6500 rpm i was reving mine 03 track to 7000 and ended up spining a bearing at 140000 on odo. What i found out from a body thats a nismo tech is that the oem oil pump piston is to light and over 6500 rpm will start creating air bubbles in the oil he said he sees it alot in DEs broght in that was one of the fixes of the HR was the nismo oil pump it has a heavier piston then th oem DE pump

Final answer.

It is safe to spin your DE to 7100 RPMS.

Done and Done.

Ahh. Did not detect the sarcasm. I mean i guess you COULD rev it to 8k but "safely" is subjective.

Example, rev it to 8k once, engine didnt blow so its "safe" but then again you can repeatedly rev it to 7k with no worries so thats "safe" too.

Personally, i dont see the point to rev so high on stock blocks. And isnt the hr red line at like 7.2k?

well all know that with full bolt on the z is lacking. i spent so much money on that car, and yeah it was fun but far from fast. not to mention i didn't want to damage it

now my z06 that is a different beast, 1st gear will get me up to about 55 mph, i have pushed this car more than the z

I get what you mean, my turboed one gets push all the time, the stockish one on the other hand, dont really see the point of taking it to the max on the streets.

I can only imagine how fun the z06 would be to be push haha.
