06.. wont reset ecu
i tried resetting the ecu via TS instructions... it doesnt work for some reason.. at times the SES light will blink like its suppose to, then stop when its suppose to keep blinking..
i know its not me because my friend has an 04 and i reset his without any problems...
could the 06 ecu be different to reset?

make sure you do it exactly as it says. you'll need a stopwatch.
I've done it plenty of times on my 06 when my loaner ECU wasn't fully recognizedy by my car so it would go into "limp mode" every 35 miles.
Here's my summary of the reset instructions from TS's page
1. Turn the key to ACC, start stopwatch
2. At 00:03 seconds press the accel pedal in and out 5 times and stop just before you reach 00:08
3. Do nothing until 00:16, at 00:16 press the accel pedal down.
4. Let go of pedal at 00:26
5. Press again at 00:36
(Check engine light should start blinking from a slow blink to a fast blink by now)
6. Let go at 00:46
7. Press again at 00:56
8. Let go at 01:06
9. Turn off car
10. Restart Car, CEL should be gone
Like I said, I would have to do this every 35 miles and although it was a nusiance, I learned how to do this in my sleep.
You won't have this problem when you go to TS, it only went into limp mode because I was the first 06 they tested on so they had to give me an 05's 35th anniv ECU. I was the guinea pig.
Anyways, TS Reflashes on 06's are possible and they'll be ready for all 06's sometime soon. Although I can't say when.

no, on a a/t the computer will gradually learn your driving habbits and start granny shifting if you arn't flooring it 24/7 (i *think* this can be avoided by using manumatic mode al the time though)....on a/t or m/t if you have mods it will eventually start to lean itself out over time and you'll need to reset again after a few months..........it's kinda like s2000s - they gradually pull timing from the stock until they're reset.

I have never had any luck with the pedal method. I just unplug the negative terminal on my batery every other on Thursday night. Luckily for me my radio retains all of the info that was preset into it.
