Default Diff fluid recommendations, and a question about capacity..

Hi folks

I'm having a tough time finding answers to this one... hopefully someone here can help.

First, I have a Nismo GT Pro 1.5 LSD diff. I'm about to do an early diff-fluid change because I'm an old-schooler and believe that where there are gears and clutches, there will be break-in debris. After this change I will go to a more "normal" service interval. Probably every 15-20k miles.

At first I was just going to swap with the same stuff that came with the diff...Veruspeed 80w90 full synth. But it turns out this stuff just isn't available in the US.

After some calls and some research it looks like either Motul or Torco is the best way to go. Motul is tough to come by. Local retailers say that they simply can't find it at any of the distributors. Odd, but ok.

So I figure I'll go with Torco SGO full-synth 80w90 or 75w90. I like to keep the diff as quiet as possible, so I'll probably stick with Nismo's spec of 80w90.

Any thoughts or experiences with these diff fluids that anyone can share??

The second question is, what will my new diff fluid capacity be once I add the Nismo finned diff cover? I understand it increases capacity, but I can't find anywhere saying by how much. Does anyone know how much diff fluid I should by to ensure I have enough to fill this thing once I install the Nismo diff cover?

Thanks in advance!

I am a royal purple *****, so that would be my vote, plus Pep Boys carries their products which should make it easier to source and replace frequently.

+1 million on the Royal Purple. I run it in everything from my radiator all the way back to my diff. awesome stuff.

As for the diff cover I would call Performance Nissan and ask Jason or one of those guys how much more capacity it adds.

I don't believe the Nismo finned diff adds any capacity. It just acts as a heat sink and allows the heat to escape better.

You may be right... I may have read the wrong writeup (eg. I think Nismo's diff cover for the Armada adds capacity...). I got this info from Nissan Performance Parts.com, but there site has been down all day so I can't reconfirm. Looking at Google's cache of the website shows only the Armada with this added capacity info. But I can't dig deeper so I dunno.

Still...I want to triple check before I order too much or (worse) not enough diff fluid. :-)
