Swapping an 04 G35 engine into an 03 350Z
Thinking of upgrading to a G35 coupe, but want to keep the power I have with my Z, so I'm considering purchasing an 04 G, swapping in my motor/TT kit, and fuel system, and selling the Z as stock (with G35 wheels
)
My only question is, will the 03 Z's ECU be compatible with the newer 04 engine? Would I have to swap some sensors as well? Also could I just swap the in-tank fuel pump assembly's w/o issue?

If memory serves me correctly, it wasn't until 04.5 that that the ECU really changed a lot and two of the OEM O2 sensors were replaced with wideband O2 sensors.
As far as the motors themselves, they should drop right into each car without needing to change out sensors. The sensors on the the motors between those years should be exactly the same.

I'll also have to get whatever adaptor kit is needed to make my APS turbo kit work in the G35. And customize my exhaust. And buy a new stock radiator for the Z since I don't believe the one for the G35 would fit. Damn this may be more trouble than it's worth, now that I really think about it
I'll really give this one alot of thought before I do anything dumb. Maybe I'll just pay off the Z early and pick up a nice used 05 or 06 G35 coupe and keep both cars.
