Default Please Help!!!!!!

Yesterday i was driving my 06 350z and from a stop i dropped it at 3500 rpm and when i got to about 6 grand i shifted to 2nd gear but my clutch pedal did not come off the floor. I hit it hard and it popped up and i had a horrible smell the rest of the drive. The car is still driving fine, no problems or smell anymore and my clutch and tranny seem fine. My friends looked at it and said it was fine, that i might of had a hot spot and caused it to stick. but i love my car and i dont want to *** it up, what should i do? take it in to get checked? Has anyoen else had this problem?

Sounds like you slipped the clutch out a little too slow. That'll cause the stink and make it stick temporarily. It happens, don't worry that you killed your clutch, just let the clutch out faster @ lower RPM's, 3500 RPM is a bit high. You can get a darn good launch @ around 2500 RPM, better to have your tires smoke some than your clutch.

You just cooked your clutch for a little bit. When you do stuff like that, you will cause those hot spots and eventually ruin the clutch disc or the flywheel friction surface.

I can't imagine launching the Z at 3500 RPMs on the street? If you are doing that, you are either just spinning badly or riding the clutch excessively. Either way, it ain't good.
