Question Stock Fuel Pump flow question

I have a 03 Touring A5T.

I havce done the Injen CAI and Exhaust. I has been my experience in the past that intake mods tend to "lean out" cars. Especially mods after the MAF.

I am adding a ZEX 75HP Wet Kit and considering this product

here

I was wondering if anyone had any tech data on the stock fuel pumps flow.

It's a cheap mod and I know it can't hurt anything, but I am wondering how much it may or may not be needed?

Opinions?

Gotta run to work, check back about 330am PST.

TIA

I would consider waiting on that for now. After you add your sunny D (juice, nos, get it?) check your plugs and see how they look. You'll know if you are running lean or not. Keep in mind that you have a secondary means of supplying the car with fuel. If you think you are running lean, put in a larger fuel jet on your nitrous nozzle.

But my real reason for saying to wait. I assume when the aftermarket ECU's come out you will be partaking in the purchase of one. Aftermarket chips tend to run very rich. I would wait and do some data logging, see what the injector duty cycle is and what the A/F mixture is.

Actually the ECU runs VERY rich over 6000 RPM even with extensive modifications. Tuning the fuel curve (adding at lower RPM and taking out at higher RPM) should yield some good results. Try an S-AFC II or something similar.

Thumbs up Thanks

I am planning on an ECU and SFC-II, so I will save the 200 bucks towards that.

If your getting a Wet Kit all the extra fuel you need should be added. That is why a Wet Kit is considered safer, it doesn't rely on the stock fuel system to supply enough fuel. Typically WET kits run below a 12.0:1 A/F while under load.

Agreed....no need for additional fuel...that's what the "wet" part of the kit is for.

Default OK thanks for confirming

My install was put off last week, but my car goes in this Thursday afternoon and has been promised to be complete by Friday evening!

I took a look at the purge and bottle opener switch and they are quite stock looking. Not just toggles but push buttons.

Both are black. Can't wait to see how this turns out!
