Default Does a grounding kit benifit in fuel economy??

after all the threads on grounding kits.. i'm starting to get sold on it. Anyone with a kit installed right now plz mention your experience on it after having it on for a while. Has it helped in fuel economy? What do ppl mean by "the car runs smoother"? My Z feels smooth already. Also, i'm not the DIY type of person.. was it easy to install? What tools do I need?

Does insaneamine still sell the kits?? I heard he stopped selling them. Tried PM'ing him.. but he has his disabled

actually, after reading that entire thread (yea, all 12 pages) I didn't see a word about fuel economy.

That's because with a car like this fuel economy isn't an important issue.

On the subject of fuel economy, a grounding kit will have no ascertainable effect. The most you can hope for in a grounding kit is a smoother engine and perhaps a tiny increase in horse power at certain RPMs.

Not important? Of course it is, it's not the primary reason I bought one -- if it was I'd buy a hybrid. Even so, if I could get 1 more MPG out of it, it'd be worth it.

Default Fuel Economy?

I have had the grounding kit on my car since November 2002. I have not noticed any improvement in gas mileage.

However, as ZGirl puts it, "I drive it like I stole it!" So, I wouldn't be a very good yardstick as far a fuel economy goes.

My average mpg has been as low as 17.8 and no higher than 18.2! Right now it is at 18.1.

Here is a screen capture from a site that sells a grounding kit:
