i wont lie, i wonderd about this myself.. i figured it would loose hp cause the engine would work too hard to suck the air in from the intercooler. intercooling also works best with hot air..u cant really cool air much colder than air temp that quick.

buy the turbo so you have a reason to have an intercooler

Basically intercoolers cool hot engine air as close to ambient temps as possible, from flowing air. So youre better off with a direct intake. Either using one of the carbon fiber front bumper intakes, getting a CAI, or a not even bothering. Just get a popcharger and leave it at that.

I tried Alberto's search and found this:
http://www.speedstash.com/intercooler.html
I'm surprised it's been discontinued. Looks like a rice-boy's dream...

I'll take a swipe at answering this question seriously.

Intercoolers are there to dissipate the heat that is generated when you compress air. A naturally aspirated engine actually has a vacuum so there is no compressed air, and there is no benefit from having an intercooler.

The intercooler will probably lose about 20-30hp over stock intake because of all the friction losses. This is just a guess, but it would suck ***
