So i have been inquiring about their release of the VQ35 camshafts that should be out in the market soon. The representative was not too clear about everything i wanted to know but this is what i was told about their camshafts:
-Their will be a Turbo grind and various NA grids.
-The various NA grinds will include a design that does not need change or upgrade of stiffer valvesprings and the other NA camshafts will require a stiffer valvetrain.
-The higher NA grind seems pretty harcore. The rep told me they're pumping out 400 FHP but wouldn't tell me too many details on the R&D motor.
-Should be released sometime within 60 days but we know their is always a delay on this one. Once the product/price is released it should be noted on their site.
-They have not yet been released because they are still undegoing testing but release should be soon.
-Price range should be around the same as the EJ25(Subaru) camshafts currently being sold by Cosworth which is around $1000 or a bit more.

I dont have time, at the moment, to go into depth on the benifits of tri-metal. But basically, they provide better heat hesistance, more consistency, and better longevity.
That said, I havent seen any issues with the OEM bearings, so I am not in a hurry to rush to tri-metal race bearings. We'll use them if they work correctly and maintain correct clearances...since they are cheaper and more readily available than the myriad of OEM bearing choices.

I have no doubt that Cosworth engineers are world class, and the heads will produce excellent results. Years of WRC, F1, and Champ car engine building certainly make them well qualified.

Its hard to get any technical info from them. I am trying to find out what is the biggest cams I can run on their heads with the stock and the Cosworth pistons. I don't want to have a custom grind made that will have clearance issues with the pistons. They keep telling me to use the Tomei's and in my opinion those are to mild for what I want to do.

Kinda wierd that they would recomend Tomei cams when there coming out with thier own cams soon. Im waiting to see the specs on the Cosworth cams too. Should be the best combo with the heads and everything. I would think that all the parts would be designed to match/compliment each other.

I am sure they are just recommending the Tomei cams right now because their cams are not going to be out anytime soon and they should be shipping me a set of heads soon. I guess I will have to wait for their cams to be released. Last thing I want to do is install the heads and then go back and change out the cams later on.
