Default Trannie problem-help pls

Anyone else ever have their trannie "lock" b/n two gears? Two days ago I started my car, went to put it into reverse and it wouldn't budge. I tried letting out the clutch but it felt like it was going to stall so I pushed the clutch back in. Needless to say, it had to be towed. Now the dealer sez nothing's wrong, if it happens again, we'll look at it and perhaps order a new trannie. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Probably longer than you've been onthe planet. I learned to drive on a manual when I was 14 (can drive on Indian rez w/o license back then). Drove tractor trailers, operated heavy equipment, have been to racing school, etc. All cars I have ever owned have been manuals, it ain't me. One month before this happened the car was in the shop on a TSB for problems and they did some work on the trannie. It didn't run right after, I complained, they did nothing, now this.
