I hope everyone is aware that the Nissan 350z motor is just a VQ35DE. IT has just a different intake and ECU tuning than the other VQ35DE motor. This motor is used in the pathfinder, altima and maxima.
thanks,
Greg

VQ35 application history, US
2001: Pathfinder, QX4
2002: Maxima, I35 and Altima
2003: G35, Murano, 350Z
2004: FX35 and Quest
The motor is all ver the joint..
As for the heads, thanks for the pics! From looking at the motor what does everyone think? Would a good port polish job show good gains(HP estimate?). Any chance we will see a before after dyno of the work being done?
I think sentra, M45, and q45 are the only cars that DONT use the VQ engine in atleast one model...
that a bad thing? hell no, parts will forever be plentiful, and it makes the aftermarket even more lucritive giving us more stuff.

I actually cannot think of a better way for a company to keep costs low. If you've already spent r&d producing a quality engine that is powerful and versitile, put it in every car you can!
