yeah youll always get those comments. and youll never escape the "save up for a turbo" one. but in the end it looked like a few people gave you some serious advice, and tried to help. thats all you can ask for.

With your mods, I bet Ted can get you in the 270hp range when he tunes the Unichip.

When are you heading down? I need to go over some pricing with him..

Good job wheelin' and dealin' BTW...

ive lurked on this site for quite some time now, and thanks 100% to this site, ive learned a lot about my car (not really a gearhead) and also gotten some good deals on my mods, thanks to fellow board members. just wanted to thank everyone and also share my experience with everyone. i can already hear the "for a few thousand more you coulda gone turbo" comments, but thats not for everyone. i just wanted a little more pep in my cars step, and i got it. i basically did every na mod besides pulleys, and heres what i got, and what i paid:

DC SS HEADERS- $250
KINETIX HI-FLO CATS- $250
HEADER & CAT INSTALL- $350
3:53 GEARS- $250 INSTALLATION INCLUDED
MD 5/16" SPACER- $250
POP-CHARGER INTAKE- $120
BORLA TD EXHAUST- $150
UNICHIP- $350
UNICHIP TUNE- $200

TOTAL: $2170

unfortunately i never did a base dyno, so ill never truly know how many hp i gained, but the z drives so much differently now, and is really a blast to drive. just my opinion, but i might have skipped the headers, because for the $550 i paid for them with installation, im not sure i gained that much power. anyhow, its been fun, and i just thought id share.
might as well get a pulley while ur at it. Pretty cheap mod.

heres my contribution to budget N/A modding

Borla TD - $400 installed
UR Crank Pulley with Belts $280 installed
Kinetix HFC's $230 installed
MD 5/16th spacer $260 installed
Popcharger $120 installed myself

$1290 for everything installed and hoping to get some DC, Alpha or Strups installed for less then $600 once I find a good deal on a set. I'll probably do a group buy on TS reflash for hopefully around $400.00. Puts me at just under $2500 for all my N/A mods. With motors blowing up left and right lately, I'll be happy being N/A.

I remember you. I came by SP and you guys were in the middle of the swap. I remember your Z is white, I think? Incredible tuning job on a budget, you are prolly the smartest guy here, heh heh!!

^^^ I would suggest some type of tune. I'm sure your A/F isn't the best. I'm purchasing the UTEC later this month and hoping to gain another 10+ whp from it.
