I clicked on this link here at My350Z.com and read the ad. Has anyone actually tried something like this? I guess it might be able to produce a small amount of power, just like ram air or something!??

Well as much as we all would probably like to laugh... honestly no one here has ever TRIED to put one of these in our cars. Mostly out of embarrassment of what someone else might say.
I have to say I think it would be interesting as hell to do a dyno before and after, then sticky the results and send them to the company. But I can't be bothered to invest the time or the $60 to buy it nor the $$$ for a dyno.
I have always thought it was proof enough that you have NEVER seen a single magazine even attempt to test them, even though ALL of the major magazines appear to accept their advertising $$$.
Do what you think is good for your situation, but no one on these boards will admit to buying one, much less putting it on their Z.

oh trust me, when i open my shop here hopefully this year, i AM going to buy one and test it. i jsut dont have my dyno yet.
i saw them try one on either "Trucks" or "Two guys garage" and they picked up some horses but.... they could have got paid a lot of money to say that also.
the strange thing is, someone has to be buying them. if not they wouldnt have the money to advertise as much as they do and STILL be in business...

yes i am looking for a location as we speak, i am about to refi the house and do what i have always dreamed about for at least 10 years now. i will hate to give up my current job but its HARD work.
to start i will hopefully have an AWD dyno and a lift, i want to do minor installs at first (bolt on turbo, SC, sus., brakes, etc) and mostly work on the dyno and doing tuning. it will be fun and i can call it my own!!!

so lets see, thats turbonator + dyno costs + humiliation = priceless
I think that Torbonator people are keeping alive the same way the companies the advertise their stuff through spamming do... Reach a million people, only 0.01% will be stupid enough to try it, but that will still be a considerable amount given the size of the target crowd, especially taking into the view that these units are like a nickel each to manufacture... I would not be surpresed if their line of products does not also inlude the 10X phermone...
Maybe it would be worth a shot for everyone here to chip in like a dollar each, get a few of those things, install it in some Z's and pull a pre- and post- dyno runs on all of them, and then spread this data among car forums, you'll hit a lot of potential buyers and possibly upset the waters for those scammers...
But we have to have enough participating cars to show an actual trend, or rather lack thereof. I am sure that some of out scientists (like Hraesvelg, wired24/7, etc) would suggest a good # for the test and control groups...

Turbonator is a great compliment for us Single Turbo guys-helps make up for the lack of another turbo and increased my trap speeds 4mph down the 1/4 due to the whirlwind effect of the air going into my flux capacitor
