Default Clutch Pedal Free Play: Can a tech explain?!?

I have been reading alot on the subject of "free play" in the clutch pedal. I decided to check out my pedal's "free play" but as far as a i can tell there is none whatsoever. Meaning as soon as i push down on the pedal, the clevis/assembly/linkage moves.

Am i misinterperting what free play is?

what they are talking about is when pressing down the clutch pedal, it takes a bit of movement before the clutch starts to release...

So as u push it, by hand, u should feel light pressure then feel it get suddenly more difficult. Free play is the measurement between these too points?
